Platform

Every voice is needed and important to achieving our goals

The MKUTANO Platform

MKUTANO (Swahili for Meet) is an online, participatory, discussion platform with formal and informal sides where Black Canadians can come together to talk, learn, educate, debate and efficiently, effectively, transparently, democratically and securely organize in real-time and at scale.  MKUTANO creates a 24/7/365 townhall in our own digital neighborhood where Black Canadians can build cohesion and momentum through coordinated, cooperative, and collaborative engagement.

MKUTANO is not intended to be used like social media but rather for deep intentional discussions enabled by it’s structured, multi-stream conversation model.

The centralized platform is organized around topics important to Black Canadians and allows us to capture conversations that will be analyzed to provide insights and consensus to feed effective strategy development and planning. We determine our collective goals and priorities together, enabling the same message to be communicated to Governments and Civil Society through many messengers.  We also use  to fully understand our strengths, needs, opportunities, and potential, through data analysis and our dynamic interactions.

MKUTANO is a real-time, two-way communications channel that enables and facilitates Black Canadians to organize at scale

Efficient, guided organizing is the accelerant for community development and organizing en masse has been the missing strategy in our efforts to move forward
